The pandemic wasn't
over, but there were signs that its effects were becoming
less life-threatening. That said, it was still being taken
seriously and when one of the passengers, along with several
crew members, tested positive on the day that we visited
Coimbra in Portugal, a decision was taken to sail non-stop
back to Portsmouth and not to call into the remaining ports
in Spain, France and Guernsey. It was of course disappointing,
but we understood the reasons behind the decision and were
grateful that we had seen as much as we had. We arrived
back in Portsmouth two days earlier than originally scheduled. |
