I was
really hoping that we'd get a "go" decision, but I was
also happy to enjoy the views from my cabin. |

This
is the full extent of the harbour! |

Conrad
returns to the ship to give us the decision. |

Despite passengers not
being allowed to go ashore, the expedition team was doing
back and forward shuttles, bringing aboard cargo from the
island. Crayfish and lots of potatoes for delivery to St
Helena, where they have completely run out (of the potatoes
anyway). |
|
|
|
It didn't escape my
notice that the expedition team seemed to be coping well
with their ship to shore operations, whilst we, the fare-paying
passengers were not permitted to visit the settlement. Sara,
one of the key members of the team gleefully reported that
coming here was high on her bucket list and not only had
she achieved that but she really loved meeting the people
on the island. Her comments didn't go down well, with me
anyway. |

The executive
chef was supervising delivery of the goods. |

|
Once
the cargo had been brought on board, the ship re-positioned so that
we could get a change of scene. |
|
|
Despite
only sailing a short distance, the wind died down and the sun shone
warmly. |
