Nightingale
Island - I don't think we'll be going ashore here today, sadly. |
|
|
Despite the gloomy weather,
the dining room staff had worked hard overnight, so when
we walked in for breakfast, we were in no doubt that it
was Easter. |

Chocolate
treats on every table... |

|
...and
more in my cabin... |
|
|
...helped
to compensate for not being able to land on Nightingale Island. |
|
|
There
is some temporary accommodation on the island. |

The disappointment of not being able to
go ashore on Nightingale Island was about to be forgotten!
Inaccessible Island lay ahead of us and, although looking
brooding and unwelcoming, we had the most wonderful afternoon
exploring its treasures from the zodiacs.

The "birders"
got very excited when they spotted both the Inaccessible
finch and the Tristan thrush. I managed to get a photo of
the thrush, although it's not a good one! |

Tristan crayfish, which
was brought on board yesterday. It was delicious! |

We were
treated to the most beautiful sunset. |
