Day 26 - Frigate birds - Boatswain Bird
Island (off Ascension Island)

I took so many photos
around Boatswain Bird Island early this morning that I decided
to devote the whole page to it and to the spectacle of the
frigate birds that came to take a look at us. Later, after
breakfast, we disembarked further along the coast for a
full day tour of Ascension Island - see the next page for
that. |

This amazing spectable
started early (probably the earliest that I had been out
of bed since the start of the trip) and it was all over
by 7:30 am, just as the dining room opened for breakfast.
I wasn't complaining because I shall always remember the
beautiful, if slightly menacing sight of those Ascension
frigatebirds. |

This
bird decided it might be fun to attack a part of the ship! |
