We attempted to do this trip in
June/July 2021, but it got cancelled. When we
saw it re-advertised with the same itinerary,
we booked it very quickly. The previous trip was
to be on a ship that we didn't know (Serenissima)
and which we were slightly dubious about, so when
we discovered that the ship for this trip would
be one of our favourites (Hebridean Sky), we were
even happier.
The two year wait was well
worth it. There were a couple of minor last minute
changes to the itinerary from the published route
below. Firstly, we were prevented from landing
on Vigur Island because of nesting birds there
and instead went to nearby Ísafjörður,
which was no problem. Secondly, we did not visit
Suduroy in the Faroes, because it was completely
shrouded in mist and the planned scenic coach
tour would have been pointless. Instead we spent
an extra day in Tórshavn and got to visit
the fine museum there.
