On 8th July, we joined
the Rocky Mountaineer for the first leg of our rail trip
to Vancouver. We travelled in a huge double decker carriage
with seats upstairs and vast windows, and a dining area
downstairs. There were five excellent attendants, providing
excellent service (except for Ron's awful shaggy dog stories...)
At one point, we followed
some white water rafters for a while. I know which method
of travel I preferred!
We travelled through some wonderful scenery.
We arrived at Kamloops
in the late afternoon, where we were transferred to our
hotel, the Best Western, which was fine, and we had a good
view of the town from our window.
