The next morning, we picked
up our hire car, and drove the 100 miles to Banff in the
Rockies. We stayed at the Fairmont Banff Springs, which
was described as a "Scottish castle in style"
- but bigger than any Scottish castle we have ever seen!
The hotel is located in the mountains, and the
view from our room was wonderful.
The grounds contained a
colony of ground squirrels.
