Day 12: Wednesday,
5th June 2002 |
|
|
|
Time to go home:
it was going to be a very, very long journey. In
the morning we mooched around the complex, and by
4:00pm were were ready to go home. We said our goodbyes
to our fellow travellers who were staying on for
a dew days at the hotel, and got on to the coach
for Lima Airport, accompanied by Margerita. We got
through the system and waited two hours for the
7:30pm Iberia Airbus A340 flight to Madrid. The
food was good and the business class seats were
so comfortable that we actually got 4-5 hours sleep:
an unheard of event. |

Day 13: Thursday,
6th June 2002 |
When we woke up, it was tomorrow
- a short night as we were flying East. We landed
at Madrid and waited half an hour in the executive
lounge. We ordered a cab to meet us at Heathrow,
our earlier good intentions to travel by public
transport dashed by fatigue. We got on the Iberia
Boeing 757-300 to London. We were met by the mini
cab man, who turned out be to an excellent driver,
and we were home at 19:30pm – 20 hours after
we left the hotel. |
|
Our trip to Peru was a wonderful experience.
We were deeply impressed by the friendliness of
the people of Peru and all the country had to
offer.
