and an outing to nearby Puerto Calero

Wednesday.

Our feline friends were there to greet us once again when we went to breakfast.

Bruce walked down to the clinic for his 3rd visit, leaving Geoff back at the villa.

There are a large number of Irish bars here and this was one example.

In the afternoon, we took a taxi to Puerto Calero. In theory it is possible to walk there along the cliff-tops, but we didn't know whether the path would be in good condition or exactly how long it would take, so we opted for the 10 minute drive.

After exploring the pleasant harbour front, we noticed that it was possible to get a ferry back to Puerto del Carmen. The last ferry of the day was due to leave about 30 minutes later so we decided to catch it.

From the boat, we got some idea of what the walk might have been like if we had walked back. From what we had read, it was about a 90 minute walk and so it would have been possible, but actually we enjoyed our boat ride.

About 30 minutes after leaving Puerto Calero, we arrived back at Puerto del Carmen harbour.

The harbour is in the old town of Puerto del Carmen. Our villa in directly above the old town, but the way up is unrelently steep. We contemplated trying to find a taxi, but decided to walk instead. First, we had a quick look at the church nearby.

Parroquia Nuestra Señora de Lourdes.

Geoff made dinner at the villa for us this evening.

Thursday.

Another beautiful day. The bougainvillea all around the complex were looking especially lovely today.

Bruce made his last visit to the clinic this morning. The dressing on his ear was removed and he was signed off. To celebrate, we went to the restaurant for a delicious lunch! We tried to be restrained, because we had booked another restaurant this evening.

As the sun began to set, we walked downhill into town. Some way beyond the clinic was the restaurant we were aiming for, which had been recommended to us by somebody we met on the plane coming over. We paused several times to admire the beautiful scene.

Sebastyan's Atlantico Lounge - our restaurant for this evening.

The view from the restaurant were stunning, but after having some superb meals since our arrival, the food here (Greek style) failed to come up to the same standard. It was good, but not quite as good as we had hoped.
