An early morning arrival in Portsmouth
at the end of a lovely holiday

Thursday 23rd May 2024
At 6:30am, the unmistakable skyline of Portmouth was visible as we completed the 99 nautical mile crossing from St. Peter Port, Guernsey.

By 7:30 am, we were edging towards our final docking location for this trip. We had sailed a distance of 2208 nautical miles since leaving Ponta Delgada (the first time) on 9th May.

After a leisurely breakfast, we got our passports checked by the immigration staff who had come on board as soon as we docked and by 9:00 am, we were off the ship. A coach took us the short distance to Portsmouth Harbour Station and from there we had a smooth trip home on the train. We had enjoyed the holiday immensely.

The aftermath, however, was a little less enjoyable!
