At Sea in the Bay of Biscay
between Spain & Guernsey
|
|

We had anticipated a
somewhat dull day with a noticeable sea swell and one that
we just had to get through as best we could. What we got
was quite the opposite. The sea was calm, the air temperature
was warm and we spent most of the day outside on deck. We
were delighted to see a lot of birdlife, but the highlight
of the day was seeing many, many dolphins, some of which
swam alongside the ship, riding the bough wave. It was a
beautiful sight and we both really enjoyed our day at sea.
In the evening, we were invited to a cocktail party by the
captain, which was followed by another excellent meal. |

We enjoyed it so much
that Geoff asked for the recipe, which they gave him! |

After leaving La Coruna last night, we
had spent all of today sailing across the Bay of Biscay.
Tonight, we would complete the voyage
to Guernsey and after spending tomorrow exploring the
island, we would only have one night left on board as
we sailed to our final stop, Portsmouth.
