The talk on the eradication
of mice on Gough Island was very interesting. In the year
before the project started, mice ate every single albatross
chick and then started on the adult birds... eating them
alive... the poor birds just sat there in their nests while
the mice nibbled away until they died. I hope that the project
continues and removes the remaining mice.
Sea days give me the
opportunity to catch up on films that I've never seen, but
which have been on my wishlist for ages. I've seen several
already which I have enjoyed. This one was one I hadn't
heard of, but I enjoyed it very much.
