Cape Horn in the
background. Well, we had to pose for these (not very good) photos.
It's the closest I've ever been to Chile, after all... and I suspect
that goes for Derek too. |

Ushaia ahead. We
had made good time, because we were only scheduled to arrive early
tomorrow morning. |

High up on a hill overlooking
the town, we could see the hotel where we would be staying
tomorrow night. |

At 6:00pm we were
docked. There was no time to go ashore before dinner. |

Before dining, we
enjoyed the trip presentation. All credit to our brilliant photographer,
Sue. |

In theory, we could
have gone ashore after dinner to explore the town, but we
both needed to do some packing, in a cabin that wasn't moving,
and make ready for a reasonably early disembarkation tomorrow.
Having an early night, with the prospect of a good night's
sleep in a stable bed, was also a factor in deciding not
to go out... I must be getting old. On second thoughts,
I am going to blame my lingering cough, cold, sore throat,
loss of voice and, more recently, an eye infection. Yes,
those are much more valid reasons! |
