Buenos Aires to London:
Homeward bound

Twenty seven days after
leaving London, it was time for me to say goodbye to Derek
and to fly home. Derek still had another two nights to spend
in Buenos Aires before going back, but he was going to spend
those two nights in central BA. |

It was a slightly longer
coach ride from Pilar to Ezeiza International Airport today,
than it had been from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery Airport to
Pilar yesterday. Nevertheless, it was comfortable and painless
and I was soon relaxing in the lounge at the airport. |

Time to relax and enjoy
the treats on the long flight back to London! |

A couple of months after
getting home, Derek sent me this compilation of our shared
trip. |

It's difficult to put
into words how much I valued this trip. As I write this
final paragraph, it is almost four months since I returned
and I still feel strongly and passionately about the whole
experience as it recedes into a wonderful series of memories.
I feel very lucky and grateful that I had the opportunity
to go. I wasn't on top form healthwise (and I wasn't alone
in that regard, as Derek and many other fellow travellers
will confirm). It also took a few weeks to recover fully
after I got back, but I would do it all again tomorrow.
In fact, the more I think about it, the more I feel that
there is unfinished business that I would like to finish
one day! I am also very grateful to Derek for his company
and for being so easy to get along with. I hope he felt
that same about me, but only he can answer that one... |
