An expedition aboard one of our favourite ships, the Island
Sky

Our expedition cruise
began in Puerto Madryn, an Argentinian town with strong
Welsh connections in the north of Patagonia, and finished
nineteen days later in Ushuaia, widely considered to be
the southernmost city in the world.

One of my best memories
- this photo was taken in the Neumayer Channel, Antarctica. |

Below is an extract from
the brochure, which helped to sell the trip to Bruce (not
that he needed too much help in that regard!).

Before beginning the expedition,
however, we had to get to Argentina. This was taken in
the departure lounge at Heathrow...

...and then, on the
plane, as we prepared to take off. |

We didn't fly to Argentina
simply to join a ship. We did a fair amount of other sightseeing
too, including spending time in the city of Buenos Aires,
from where we made a special trip, with twenty two others,
to the magnificent Iguazu Falls. After that, we were joined
by a further seventy six people for a short stay in northern
Patagonia, before we all embarked the ship. Later, after
the cruise, we also saw some highlights of southern Patagonia,
before returning home via Buenos Aires.
