Olden and the Briksdal
Glacier
On the coach, as we left Olden and
headed towards the Briksdal Glacier. |
From the car/coach park, there was
quite a long walk to the glacier itself. Some people took
"troll cars", but we relished the opportunity
to get a little exercise and admire the scenery en-route.

After spending half an hour close
to the glacier, we began to retrace our steps. |

We were rewarded with late morning
refreshments in the restaurant at the car park. Well, we had done
SOME exercise! |
Back on the coach, we drove back
towards the port.
The morning mist had cleared and the scenery was gorgeous! |
We paused for photographs at this
beautiful glacial lake. |

Back in the small port of Olden,
it was time to board the ship and continue our journey north. |

A late lunch on the deck after we
sailed, with Bob and Chris looking on. |

Well, all that walking this morning
had drained my blood sugar levels! |

That evening, as we sailed out of the
fjord into the Norwegian Sea, we passed Runde Island, which
is famous for its bird life. |
