We decided to do our
own thing today. Our fellow travellers went to Monreale
in the morning (because the cathedral was going to be closed
in the afternoon for a wedding) and then did the city tour
in the afternoon. We concluded that Palermo itself might
be quieter in the morning and we were right. We visited
the Palatine Chapel, which was very quiet indeed compared
with our last visit there in 2013 and were able to spend
lots of time there. We also got more exercise than we had
on any day for the past week! |
