Although my last trip
to South Africa was in October 2021, I decided to pay
another visit to see my Mom and the rest of the family,
early in the year. This is because Geoff and I have quite
a few (previously delayed) holidays booked in 2022 and
I wasn't sure that there would be another opportunity
later in the year. It was a good decision. I loved seeing
how well Mom was looking and how well she was settling
into her new home.

It was Mom's birthday

I managed to get
Mom out and walking almost every day, which made me very happy.
She has continued to go out since I left, which makes me even more
happy! |

Every trip I make still
feels like a privilege. The pandemic is still not over,
so nothing can be taken for granted, but we continue to
take each day at a time and feel grateful for what we
have.
